Feels Good

A compliment is almost always welcome.
An entree to the main course
of a smile.

A genuine compliment is a gift
that you give,
acting like a sieve
of positivity.

Next time you're on the bus
and the asian guy
across from you has some fresh kicks,
tell him so
and watch his mood improve.

Sometimes beautiful people
don't feel beautiful.
They cannot read your mind
like a book.
All is not said
with a look.

It could be a styling bracelet
or a pair of electric eyes
that demand your gaze.
It could be a major achievement
or just a minor chord struck
within.

Either way, how hard is it to say
that someone's just made your day
by being themselves?

A compliment can act like a mirror
but it doesn't have to.
Don't release one into the cosmos
expecting one back.
A compliment is egoless.
A compliment expects nothing
in return except a smile
on a dial-

and if you are lucky enough
to be the recipient of one,
be humble.
Do not tumble too deep
into your own world
where compliments
no longer wish to travel.
